PASSIONATE ABOUT ELEPHANTS

MY LOVE OF ELLIES IS WELL KNOWN by all who have known me over the past 9,5 years whilst I was co-ordinator/manager of  Embocraft Training Centre Trust.

On my retirement at the end of 2019 I was gifted the experience of a lifetime by the Trustees and staff.

A visit to the Elephant Interaction at Bayete in Mkuze in Northern Zululand. Never in my life did I imagine that I would be close up and personal with one of these amazing giants.  So much so that I hand fed “Rambo” by placing the food on his tongue way above my head.  To be able to  hug and feel the elephants soft underbelly was unimaginable.

If you are local or an international visitor, a visit to this amazing interaction is a must – the elephants are semi wild – they are allowed to roam around the vast estate and come up to the interaction site daily to be fed by the visitors.  They have 24hour security guards with them as they are used to humans and this could put their lives in danger.
