Non-Profit Skills Training

I have recently heard people saying its time to start counting the Fridays or other days until Christmas.  I never realised that its really very close.  9 more Fridays!!!!
Wow who would have thought that 2020 was going to be such a strange and unusual year.  Very soon we will be welcoming in 2021…. I think we all look forward to this and hope that the New Year brings health wealth and happiness… At this stage we are all praying for good health!!  Corona remains on everyone’s mind and we are all aware of the dangers of not keeping up the social distancing and sanitizing.  I must admit that I avoid going out a lot, I cannot wear my mask for long before i want to rip it off.  We have to sympathize with all the front line workers and retailers, in fact everyone out there who deals with us, the public.

Our students and teachers at Embocraft Training Centre are making us very proud as they all conform and we are pleased to say that we have been able to keep Corona out of our training centre.

We do miss our International visitors from abroad.  October is the month that our American friends generally pay a visit to us whilst they are on their mission to Ntshongweni communities.

By now our Australian visitors would have been and returned home having spent 3 months with us and their community in the Kwa Ximba areas.   We have been fortunate to help support the communities with food and such with funds sent through for this purpose.

Our manager Anthea Jansen has not had an easy first year at the helm of Embocraft.  Covid has affected the classes, funding and general running of our NPO but she has managed to introduce new products to the craft shop and new courses despite all this.

The shop is stocking goods that will appeal to the local communities made by the production team as well as supporting the past students.

If you are looking for stocking fillers or Christmas gifts be sure to pop in and see.  If there is a specific item you require in specific colours or fabric, speak to Anthea, she will welcome your enquiry.

Success stories continue to flow in and we are so proud when we receive positive reports from employers who have our past students in their employ.

See our regular facebook posts with pictures and details of the two special ladies, Nozi and Nonhlanhla who are making names for themselves with a local children’s clothes manufacturer.  We are so proud of these ladies.

Well that’s all folks, until the next time, stay safe and stay well
