Non-Profit Skills Training

Day 54 of our lockdown and our lives and work at Embocraft Training Centre  does not remain as it was in my last blog Day 4.

We are very excited that we have been given permission to be classed as an essential organisation as we are busy making masks for the community.  These masks are made from the offcuts and small pieces of fabric that we have accumulated over the years – knowing that one day something could be made out of this.. It is thank you to all you kind folk who have donated fabric offcuts to us – elastic used also being from donations.

The ladies of Embocraft come in twice a week to deliver completed masks and take further home to  be sewn up.

Great changes have been implemented in the hopes that soon we will have our training rooms full of students and happy song and chatter.  The rooms have been sorted to allow for social distancing in an effort to keep both the trainers and students safe from this dreadful virus Covid 19 .

I have to mention that without the guidance of Anthea Jansen the new co-ordinator of Embocraft and Mpilo Nxumalo our “jack of all trades” the above would not have been possible.

We are looking forward to the day that you are able to once again visit us and see all the improvements made to our little training centre.
